Yeah!!! It's time to City Tour in Iloilo, Philippines

The fifth day at ISAT U, precisely Monday, we were gathered at the Gymnasium where everyone gathered to carry out the flag ceremony. We think we will only be asked to attend the flag ceremony, apparently in the middle of the ceremony, we are called to get on the podium to introduce ourselves one by one in front of everyone. Trembling, not playing while on the podium and seeing hundreds of pairs of eyes fixed on us. Finally, inevitably we introduced ourselves, the ceremony participants suddenly cheering loudly echoed in the gymnasium when we said the origin and our major study.

After introducing ourselves before the ceremony participants, we were "kidnapped" by Maam Shailini and Maam Neima to join the city tour. "What? Can we change first? "We ask, how could we go to city tour use alma mater and high heels? "No, you haven't. cause we will visit city hall and meet some important people in Iloilo " She replied. As a result, we had a tour with formal clothes. "Do you want to tour or want a meeting?" We joked during the trip.

The first place we visited was Casa Mariquit, an old building built by banker Ramon Javellana, which was later passed on to his granddaughter Mariquit and her husband Fernando Lopez who is also the vice president of the Philippines at the 1950s. This building is said to be the most expensive building contained here, this can be seen from the wooden and glass ornaments that are found around the building.

A tense atmosphere was also felt when entering this building. Some photos and displays look always starring at our movements and some crying blood. as you can see on the left picture is the owner of casa mariquit house. and the right side is the picture that seems crying blood

After coming from Casa Mariquit, the next stop was Jaro Cathedral, which is a church for Catholics. It is said that in the church there is a statue of Mary which will grow every year. In addition we also visited the city hall to see the Iloilo cultural exhibition and meet with members of the legislative council there.

this is a costume that is used for Dinangyang festival celebrations which are usually held at the beginning of each year.       Unfortunately at that time we arrived in August-September so we could not see the celebration. From there, we went upstairs to meet with several legislators in Iloilo. Then they took us to the rooftop to see the sights of Iloilo city from above.

Other activities that we have is pahampang day or commonly known as sport and art’s week. This activity was held at University Week aka Campus Anniversary. during that week every students from every class will participate on sport or art competition. like volleyball, basketball, dancing, singing, and many other activity. beside that, every college department will perform their exhibition.

In addition we were also invited to participate in the Charter Day or Iloilo city anniversary activities. That day we were invited to join the parade around a part of Iloilo city, and again we were introduced to all Iloilo people who were present at that time. A trip that is not less exciting is when visiting Guimaras Island. The island is famous for its beautiful beaches with white sand and clear water and very sweet mango. The trip starts at 8 am from Iloilo Ferry Terminal to guimaras island. The journey is taken by ferry. As long as the journey has seen the sea water is so clear with waves that are not too big. When it arrived at a café in the middle of the sea, without wasting the chance we jumped into the sea to enjoy the clear water on the island
